By five, Preston had moved from England to Singapore and back, lived through abuse and the break-up of his family, and lost his father. He would not see him again for almost thirty years. By eleven he was running with a gang.
At thirteen he emigrated to apartheid South Africa. At sixteen he was expelled and went underground in the coal mines. At twenty-one he went to war and was accused of murder. The charges were dropped five months later.
With no qualifications, he rose to Quality Manager and Field Engineer, then built his own multi-million business, was interviewed on national television and met Nelson Mandela. Behind the success, he was coming apart: depression, fear, alcohol, drugs, and a vow to find his father and kill him.
Then he met God.
He went on to lead multi-million-dollar projects and become a Director at one of the world’s largest engineering and construction firms, with a Standard 8 Practical. Today he lives in Alberta, Canada, with his wife and family.
Through the real stories of men and women who were written off, and who changed direction and never looked back, Unfinished Soul shows that what was left undone in you can still be made whole.
